Prof. Sebastien Lecommandoux

After a postdoctoral experience in Sam Stupps’s group at Urbana-Champaign (USA) in 1998, Sébastien Lecommandoux joined the Univ. Bordeaux (France) as Assistant Professor and iscurrently Full Professor and Director of the “Laboratoire de Chimie des Polymères Organiques”,leading the group “Polymer Self-Assembly and Life Sciences”. His research interests includepolypeptide and polysaccharide based block copolymers self-assembly, biomimetic approaches toward design of synthetic viruses and cells as well as the design of polymersomes for drug- delivery and theranostic. He published more than 170 research publications in international journal, 6 book chapters and 6 patents, with about 10000 citations. He received the CNRS Bronze medal in 2004, Institut Universitaire de France (IUF) Junior Award in 2007 and became Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) in 2017. He is in the Editorial Advisory Board of several international journals, including Bioconjugate Chemistry (ACS), Polymer Chemistry and Biomaterials Science (RSC) and Associate Editor for Biomacromolecules (ACS) since 2013.
